Minor reworking...

Per Art and Alex, I removed R35 with a hot air rework gun, and removed R62 as well which I had wedged in a 1206 and now have the 805 2.2k R35 resistor in it's place.  Hot Air rework stations aren't necessary to remove chips as a solder wick and even heating will often do the job, but the rework stations do spoil you and make life so much easier.  Looks like most of the kits are short these items:

1x 0.1uF - 399-1169-1-ND
1x 499ohm - P499CCT-ND

In case you missed the messages, Art will be shipping those out to the beta kit buyers.

Labels added to posts

Since I may start posting other projects to this blog, I added labels to the posts to make things easier for people to find.  Since either my friends, family or the Motherboard project people may be viewing, and not care about all the other stuff going on, I figured it would be easier this way.  For all the Motherboard related posts, I've added the label MoBo.  You can view only the Motherboard posts by clicking the link below and you won't see anything else you may not care about: http://kb1mts.blogspot.com/search/label/MoBo

Please note I was missing R62, so I replaced it with a 1206 for now (I already created a sheet in Excel to track the missing orphans :-) 

UPDATE: According to Alex and Art, R35 is not needed for people using a SoftRock with the motherboard. "R35/R36 will be omitted or installed, see assembly notes for details."

"R35 and R36 are needed for the I2C pullups. Something 1K to 100K may work fine to get running.  Think the goal was to have someone start a assembly notes document.  Alex has some prelim stuff in the files section. I had some assembly note in a previous message on MOBO up and running.... Not sure why R35 and R36 would be mentioned other needing to be there."

Well after playing Where's Waldo for an hour, I got all the .1uf SMD caps added.  I was short one, so I used a 1206 that I had (I can always remove it later with a hot air rework gun.) 

UPDATED 11/20: I noticed due to a bad spot in silk screen, I had put C35 into C36 thinking it was C35 so the image has been updated. C36 on the bottom should not be populated. Sorry for any inconvienience.

Motherboard 4.3.4 Beta Kit Arrived!

Just got my Motherboard 4.3.4 beta kit for the SoftRock 6.3 SDR. I can't wait to start assembling it! I'll post updates here as I go thru the project.
